-

-
NowThe department may ask a licensed installer for proof of insurance at any time, and the installer must tell the department about any changes to or cancellation of the coverage.
BeforeA renewal application filed before the license expired, with proof of a valid bond or cash deposit and the fee, let the licensee keep operating until the renewal was issued.
NowTo keep operating while waiting on a renewal, the application must also include a valid fingerprint clearance card and, if it applies, the required proof of insurance.
BeforeThe board had to adopt rules on dealer trust and escrow accounts, cosmetic complaint procedures (including how to set a home's installation date), and scheduling repairs for complaint items.
NowThese requirements for the board to adopt those rules are removed. The trust and escrow, complaint and repair rules written in the statute itself stay in place.

- Whether existing board rules on trust accounts, complaints and repairs stay in effect after the requirement to adopt them is removed
- Any set minimum dollar amount of insurance
- The penalty for not keeping the required insurance
- How soon an installer must report insurance changes or cancellations
