  • NowBy December 1, 2026, the department must send the House speaker and Senate president a report summarizing these reviews and recommending legislative action to consolidate, eliminate or otherwise change the requirements. It must recommend repealing or consolidating any requirement that is duplicative, expired or obsolete.

Who it affects

  • Public schools in Arizona
  • Arizona Department of Education
  • Arizona Legislature leadership

What you need to do

Nothing.

What the law doesn't answer

  • Which specific reporting requirements, if any, will actually be changed or eliminated; that would take later legislative action
  • Whether the report will be made available to the public
  • Whether any funding is provided for the review
  • Whether schools or the public will be consulted during the review

This summary describes the law as enacted. Later laws, court rulings or referendum petitions can change the picture. Check the official text for the current wording.
